After warm-ups we begin to "work." We practice our "chagi" (kicks), "makki"
(blocks), & "jireugi" (strikes). Students also practice their "poomse" (forms), and "kyorugi" (sparring). Tae Kwon Do
is an art that is mastered through repetition, so we utilize an endless variety of drills to practice the basics. Although
each class follows the same structure, no two classes are ever alike. Kids are always waiting to see what is next.
At the end of class, the kids
bow and shake hands with their instructors to show respect while saying "Kam Sa Ham Ni Da." "You have my respect and gratitude for what you have
just done." This is the most respectful way of saying thank you.
