Like many children growing up in his homeland of South Korea, Sang K. Pak practiced the martial art of tae kwon do. But
at age 52, the Rock Hill businessman received an honor only a select few in the craft ever reach; the same goal he'd striven
for since he began studying the discipline of high kicks and swift moves at age 5 -- his ninth-degree black belt.

WTF Signs Recognition Contract with LaJUST to use elecronic
chest protectors
The World Taekwondo Federation signed a recognition contract with LaJUST on electronic protectors at the headquarters
of the WTF in Seoul on Sept. 11, 2006. The contract period is five years. With the signing, the WTF is able to
use the electronic protectors in the taekwondo competition of the 18th World Taekowndo Championships scheduled for in May

The World Taekwondo Federation celebrated the 1st "Taekwondo Day" on Sept.
4, 2006, in a ceremony.
During the opening ceremony of the 1st WTF World Taekwondo Poomsae Championships at the
