Master Javier A. Duque Master Javier Duque, originally from Santiago, Chile, studied Martial Arts under Korean Grandmaster Man Soo Yoon
from 1984-2003 in Santiago. Before moving to the United States in 2003, Javier worked for nine years as a Pharmaceutical Representative
specializing in cardiology, rheumatology, and sports medicine. From 2004-2005, Master Duque managed the Military Arts Institute in Chicago, and studied under Korean Grandmaster Kyung Sun Shin.
Master Duque is Kukkiwon certified, has been teaching Martial Arts for the past twelve years, and holds the following internationally recognized belts:
6th Degree Black Belt Korean Hapkido
5th Degree Black Belt Korean Tae Kwon Do 2nd Degree Black Belt
Korean Kyuok Too Ki
Kathryn M. Gonzalo-Duque
Kathryn Gonzalo-Duque is a Third Dan Black Belt, Kukkikwon Certified.
She is an Ottawa native, and met Javier while living and working with the poor in Santiago, Chile. She is a graduate
of Marquette High School ('95) and the University of Notre Dame ('99). Kathryn has worked in management and human
resources for multi-national corporations in both Chile and the United States.
Together, Javier & Kathryn are living their dream of opening a Martial Arts Institute that welcomes students
to make positive changes in their lives by learning the principles and traditions of traditional Martial Arts.
